Whenever we work with a family looking for a home, of course one of their biggest concerns is the schools. As residents of the area ourselves, we’re very proud of the Washington Township school district, and we’re happy to tell you more about it.
The Niche website as of 2021 gives the Washington Township school district a B+ rating. The rating is based on a number of factors, including academics, teacher ratings, sports, safety, and outside activities. The website ranked our district above average on every criteria, and ranks it the 4th best in Gloucester County.
But going beyond arbitrary ratings, we’re proud of all of our schools from K-12. Parents speak of how much the faculty and staff of the schools believe in inclusion for everyone, focus on helping challenged children in multiple areas, and provide an environment where children love to go to school. Our schools are proud of our nation and its heritage, and believe in an America that welcomes people of all races, faiths and beliefs.
In addition to the quality education that the Washington Township school district offers, students have the option of several first class venues for higher education. The rapidly growing Rowan University is just minutes away in Glassboro, and Rutgers University is a popular higher education destination for Washington Township graduates.
Washington Township is also dedicated to student and faculty safety. The township takes any threats very seriously, no matter how small, and is very quick to respond to any situation with classroom lockdowns and shelters in place as needed. They do an excellent job of keeping parents informed, and reassuring them of their children’s safety. We have very safe bus drivers, plenty of crossing guards on duty each day, and clearly marked crosswalks and traffic signals that are designed to help children get to and from school easily.
