Washington Lake Park, located off of Egg Harbor Road and Greentree Road is a huge park, covering over 330 acres. It features a variety of walking trails, ponds with fish and ducks, an amphitheater, three playgrounds for kids, and multiple athletic fields including softball, lacrosse, beach volleyball and soccer fields. There’s even a street hockey rink and a basketball court! Washington Lake Park is beautifully maintained, with plenty of greenery, and it has recently added an area for walking dogs.
Washington Lake Park is a high point of living in the area, bringing in residents from miles around, and is very popular with families. The park is home to a variety of events throughout the year, from charity walks in the summer to a Christmas tree lighting each December. You can rent a pavilion for a picnic here, and there are multiple bathrooms and portable toilets. It’s a lovely way to spend an afternoon, whether you’re by yourself or with the children.
Cedar Lake Park is a recent addition to Washington Lake Park, created to add a new dimension to the park and a pet-friendly place to take a furry friend. It features fishing docks, walking paths, and an off-leash dog park. Adding Cedar Lake Park involved demolition of existing defunct buildings, new parking and storm water retention, and a host of other improvements. It’s a beautiful new addition to an already superb local recreation area.
