Nifty Fifty’s was founded in 1987 and is emblematic of its name…it’s a chain of diners that takes its customers back to the days when rock and roll was new, diners were a favorite gathering spot, and the popular restaurants of the day were known for their great food. Nifty Fifty’s specializes in 100% prime beef burgers, hand-cut French fries, and hand-dipped milkshakes, and other classic 1950’s diner favorites. All in a neon-filled, fun atmosphere that offers a great environment for kids.
Our own Nifty Fifty’s in Washington Township has a 4.3 rating out of five stars on Google as this sentence was written, but the chain has been recognized by major publications too…they’ve won no less than ten “Best of Philly” awards from Philadelphia magazine, including Best 50s Style Eatery, Best Value for the Family, Best Texas Tommy, and Best Milkshake…an honor they’ve won three times!
The Nifty Fifty’s chain is based throughout the Philadelphia area, but its Washington Township location is its only New Jersey franchise. It’s located on NJ Route 42 close to the Atlantic City Expressway, and if you’re driving by at night especially, you can’t miss the glowing neon! If you have kids especially, it’s well worth a visit for the great food and mini-golf…the kids will want to go back, and you will too.
